School starts in a week. Hmmm...
Let us go back in time to all the major happenings this past summer.
I'd have to say that this summer may not have been as eventful as the last, but it was still good. Like weekends, summers are good.
I mostly spent my time at work, in the pool, exercising, reading/writing, and occasionally spending time with my friends. The nights at work that I'll remember most are probably Tuesdays-mostly because my mom managed. There are also those few where I couldn't wipe a grin off my face from all the laughs. Then there are those that were very close, if not the definition of hell. But that's part of a job, right?
Next was all the swimming that happened. I recently remember when I paid a spontaneous trip and finding all of my youngest cousins there. The oldest is four or five. I spent that afternoon "catching" them as they jumped off the side and into my arms. One can only take so much thirty pound abuse to the arms. I say "catching" because I basically stood there while they landed directly in front of me. There was also diving equipment that day, so I felt like a fish more than ever thanks to the diver's flippers.
Then there was the time I hung out with Ashley in the pouring rain. We were swimming in my gma's pool the day the rain came down like stones. I'm pretty sure I would know what getting stoned would be like after that encounter. It was a great time, nonetheless. The lightning strikes were a little scary, but it just made it all the more fun.
Yes another pool experience-but late night swimming with the florescent light is one I'll never forget. The whole feeling of swimming in an emerald/sapphire pool with torches will stick with me forever. I already blogged about the experience in "Emerald City."
As far as exercising goes, in some ways I feel like that was all I did. Not a bad thing, though. I mostly ran on my treadmill. On some nights I would occasionally go rollerblading around the neighborhood at top speed, I swam of course, and on rare occasions, play tennis.
After reading so many fanfics, I've decided to start one of my own. It's kinda a personal thing to me, considering that no one else I personally know does it. I've found that writing this story to be a lot of fun and a challenge. I've based a lot of it off my own life experiences which made it all the more interesting. If you want the link, message me preferably on Facebook.
Now, spending time with friends...I already mentioned hanging out with Ashley, so I'll move on to mah twins! My only visit was in July to a secluded area known as Panaca. I don't know if anyone knows already where it is but to fill you in, it's an hour drive from here and it's past Enterprise. Anyway, the trip at that time was as always, tons of fun. We gathered our thoughts together and ended up doing a lot of road tripping. I drove us to Caliente for lunch at JJ's and over to Alamo to Ash Springs. Ash Springs never happened because of all the people, but that didn't stop us from having a good time. We ended up going to the Sinclair gas station and posing on the dinosaur. I can proudly say that was one thing checked off the bucket list. As awkward as it may have been, I'm still very happy we did it.
Coming back to Panaca, I thought it would be fun to go to the famous spring. All natural water, it had fish that were visibly swimming past our feet and only a few man made additions. We didn't swim in it, but posed with the water up to our knees. I blogged earlier about this time with all the pictures.
Finally, the happiest news of my summer came when I was informed that they'd be moving back to Cedar. This last saturday was when they were all moved in and I was sadly unable to celebrate with them due to me spending my weekend at the Beaver County fair in Minersville. In spite of that, I still had lots of fun with grandma and our booth selling jewelry, purses, scarfs, and about anything western themed you could think of. I spent two full days at the booth, and the hours were long and boring-first day, anyway. The weather would be nice around eleven am, then it would be like the firey pits of hell from one to five. I was just thankful we had an electrical outlet and a fan with a cooler. And...I had wifi internet access so I guess it wasn't all bad. I did have fun helping out in spite of the crazy rain that we got on Friday, soaking everything. We spent most of Saturday drying it out and finally cleaning up after the demolition derby.
I hope to make the this last week count despite me working everyday!
