Emerald City

I don't really have a lot to say about tonight's post. I did however take some pretty photos. I caught the sunset at a nice angle and I was actually able to capture the rainbow pool and torches. What a nice way to end my day of boring. Ha oh well. It rained on us while we swam under the gray sky. When it came time to burn the torches and light up the pool, it came down even harder. :)

I stuck my tongue out and caught the rain with closed eyes. I couldn't be happier at the time.

My mom surprised us both when she came outta no where. My mood jumped ten points. So the three of us swam and talked about the restaurant, cause that's what we do best. :] The patio pole warmed us nicely when our swim came to a close at 10:30.

All us Crazies

Yet another swimming day was upon us, although I spent the day with my cousins, mom and bro. What started out to be a calm afternoon was quickly replaced with me, ray, and my twin cousins launching ourselves into the pool.
Before we were just peacefully swimming until Ray surprised us all with a cannon-ball into the pool.

Mom and grammy couldn't do one thing about it, either.

We had wayyy too much fun yesterday.

Late Night Swim

Two posts in one day? You betcha! Tonight's experience is worthy of its own blog post.

What started out as yet another spontaneous visit to grammy's pool turned out to be an adventure all in its own category. (on a different note) I have always admired grammy's yard, even before the pool replaced most of their lush grass. Tonight I decided I would bring my camera and capture some of the lovely seasonal flowers.

Aren't these lovely?

So back to what I was originally writing on...Tonight's swim was different in so many ways. For one, the fiber-optic light lit up the entire pool as soon as it was turned on. What was even more fun was that it changed colors. I was swimming in green, white, pink, and purple colored water. I was sure I hadn't smiled that large in awhile.

The fire pit was also lit, creating a nice, warm atmosphere. The night sky and torches also added to it, almost giving a Hawaiian feel, though I have never been. I imagined that it would be about like. I thought of Savvy and how she must be enjoying life as she studies at the University of Hawaii. All of this however, only added to my envy. Someday it will be my turn to go to paradise.

Somehow the subject of life after death came up in our (grammy & me) conversation while we swam in the rainbow water. Lately I have been thinking about the gospel and its principals. This in turn has made me think about my choices and I've taken some necessary steps to improve myself. I'm not implying that I'm a bad person, only that there was room to do better. We talked of the plan and baptisms for the dead.

I'm glad that I have such great grandparents-both sides included. They are each strong in the beliefs of the church and are very supportive. Their encouragements are what I appreciate most, along with being able to talk to them about the somewhat touchy subject.

Summer Air

Now that it's mid July, I feel like the summer has in some ways, slipped away. I have done all that I have wanted to so far, but I honestly wish that there was more time available to me. The frightening sight of school supplies scattered around Walmart doesn't help, either.

All in all it's been good time off.

I hung out with Ashley again Thursday. It was a long time overdue. I write about this because we went swimming in my grammy's pool. Not one of my friends has been over to her house- let alone swim in the pool. I feel like I can hang with Ash anytime. I don't worry much about canceled plans or the "make up excuses" kind of friend because I have been there so many times I stopped keeping track. We spent a good two, three hours before we each went home.

There's just something about swimming (especially in the rain) that allows me to release my inner self. I feel so free whenever I swim. I have made up my mind-a pool is a must for my future home.

July Jamboree was on Saturday again this year. As always it was a ton of fun, though this year's was a bit unique b/c I hung out with Mike and his friends rather than my own. I also made a few friends of my own, Haylee and Mylssa (sp?). Finding out someone was in your class and becoming friends with them later on is a curious thing. I wondered why I had not talked to Mylssa in class before because we became good friends in just a couple hours.

While we walked around looking at the most insanely beautiful cars, we stopped at a peculiar booth that was selling magnetic bracelets, hand made soaps, chap-stick and other handmade things. The Parowan prophet and another guy were the merchants. The prophet was advertising the warning of the nuclear war that was supposably going to hit in two hours from the time we were there.

After much walking around, we headed to Little Caesar's Pizza (sp?) where Mlyssa worked and got a free pizza. Walking around some more, we finally sat down in the park under a big tree where the renaissance fair was also happening. There we enjoyed our pizza and each other's company.

Mlyssa and I listened while Haylee and Mike talked intensely about relationships, however just casually. I learned that Haylee has a man named Patrick that she will soon be engaged to. I felt happy for her. We sat there for awhile more and were handed free yellow t shirts. Score!

After being forced to move,  (booth construction) we headed across the street to the tiki shack where snow cones were sold. After just eating pizza, I didn't feel like having any. Mike's friend, Mark and what I guessed to be his guardian (?) caught up with us.

We again talked for a minute before finally heading back up Main Street. By this time the darkness of the evening had just begun to blanket the sky as the sun had set. Most of the cars (sniff) had driven away, not to be seen again until next year. I swear most of these cars are the same ones I see every year. We waved at the booth where we first encountered the prophet, surprised to see he was still there.

Mike, Haylee and the Parowan Prophet

When I thought our evening had come to an end we spotted a gray Mitsubishi Spyder with the most epic lighting fixtures I had ever seen. They reminded me of my grammy's pool, since she has a fiber-opitc light in it. It changed colors similar to the way the Spyder did. I will admit that the amputated zombie by the front tire was a nice touch. The blasting music's vibrations were strong and made my chest hurt.

Me (middle) Haylee and the Parowan Prophet

Our night ended when Haylee dropped Mike and I off where his Jeep was parked. The evening breeze felt nice blowing against my face. Mike's Jeep doesn't have the top on, so I was essentially riding in a convertible. And that was that! :)
