What really matters

Well, seeing how it's now the end of 2013, I think it's time for another post.

This time last year me, Harm and Mel were hanging out at the countdown to 2013 in the institute gym. A whole year has passed since then and the memory of that one night is vivid to me. This year was a great one, for sure. I've laughed and cried more times than I thought possible. I learned some important things. There's been a lot of changes, too. Looking back, I have come a long way and I usually seem to when I take a trip down the previous year.

The most important things in life are not materialistic things. While I have come to really appreciate modern day technology, the things worth fighting for are what goes with us into the next life. And that's what really matters. I realize that everyone we have ever known and all beings that God himself created will be resurrected. I had a small revelation from this just tonight. There are some things that happen for a reason and it is sometimes hard to explain. I know the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the true words of God. They are full of revelation and are the best things to hang out with. They will never change, they will never let you down.

There is nothing more I really want than to live my life happily. I want to be able to look back on my life and be satisfied. With that said, I am going to risk it more often b/c you just never know what will come of some things. I look forward to the time when I can be with everyone I have ever loved and who has loved me in return, for eternity. Forever and always. I can only dream of what that will be like until the time actually comes around for my wish to happen. I cannot say how thankful, grateful I am for this kind of knowledge! There is so much more to life than just living day-to-day. There's a reason we are all here being tested in all aspects of life. I pray that those searching for the truth will find it. I hope I can take part in helping said people.

See ya all in 2014

Now That It's Almost Over

Hiya! So it's probably time for another update seeing how it's now December!!

Um, well there's been lots of snow here. It was fun for like the first two days. By fun I mean driving and sliding all over brought a big grin to my face. That is, until I had to come home to the unplowed culdesac. This week was real fun having all of it turn into ice. I really love the negative temperatures because then I have to get my car defrosted AND jumped just to get it up and running. I will say that frolicking through the snow on campus is fun when you have knee-high boots. Anything else sucks. I had on a pair of jeans and tenny shoes which soaked up all the snow while I trudged on my way to the PE bldg. That all melts and your feets and shoes are soaken wet for the rest of the day. It's fine. Let's not forget the ice between the tires! I'm gonna have to get a shovel or a pick axe to free my tires.

This was the last week of classes! My 5th semester is so close to being over that I can almost taste it! I'd say that this was a great semester. My grades will prove it, too :) For the most part I have kept the same friends that I already made in earlier semesters and I have come to know my instructors. Matt Adams is awesome. He's a great person as well as  a teacher! He read us Dr. Suess for class one day (in math) and even dressed up on halloween. I'm missing that class already…

As much as I love photography, I'm glad the class is over. I had fun, yes, it's rather obnoxious though when you have to fit a criteria. Mostly I love taking pictures of whatever. In spite of this I'm forcing myself to take more advanced classes b/c someday I wish to do pictures for people. I want to learn the art of studio lighting and such.

Last night was the closing social for the institute. The only thing we went to though was just the dance. Because dinner sucked hardcore from the opening social, we took care of dinner for ourselves. (Costa Vida)! This year it was in the institute bldg instead of the heritage theatre so that was kind of a disappointment. I was however pleasantly surprised by how well it turned out though!  The gym was very cutely decorated and had lots of christmas lights and such. We really got going once the music was good for dancing. And after that we watched Bridesmaides at Kenzie's!

Did you think I was kidding?
