Some Things are Life Changing.

Wow. What a week! So I'll just get right to it. I'm now dating Derek. My first ever legit relationship with a man. 0.o As the title suggests, some things are life changing.

Here's the get-go:

Over spring break I was asked to  blind double with one of my friends (Josh) and his girlfriend (Laura). Josh had one of his friends coming to visit over spring break and thought it'd be fun for us to double. I wasn't doing anything but working all that week so I said yes. I have to say, I've never had so much fun on a first date. Normally they just consist of asking awkward questions and just getting used to who you're with. Yeah, there was a little bit of that when they came to pick me up. Derek and I were shoved  (very tightly) into the back of Josh's small white Toyota. The first thing on the agenda was to go and shoot guns. We ended up going to the range out past Wecco on highway 56 here in town. I was exposed to shooting a 22, a shotgun, and a handgun. The 22 is still my favorite. Mostly because it doesn't knock you backwards when you shoot it.

Next we went back to the house where Josh lives currently. The house is kiddy corner to my homeward church, which was to my surprise. His family (cousins) own the house and he and his roomies live there now. Josh and Derek are both from Cortez Colorado. Josh came here to go to school and Derek moved here just last Sunday, mostly to continue work and eventually gain residency to go to school. Anyway we made dinner (burgers and fries) and played UNO for a bit. We then went out back and made a fire, which I got some pretty sweet pics of.

So after that we all went for a swim in the indoor pool. We played what started as a friendly game of water basketball then quickly escalated into a fierce competition. Each of us lost to the other, and we had to go run outside and come back in as punishment. After sitting in an eighty degree environment and then having to run outside in twenty degrees was pretty fun. We also really got into water volleyball. We about killed each other with that cause Laura and myself were on top of our guy's shoulders and it was up to us to keep the ball from touching the water. Eventually I went home around 2 am after watching a movie.

Currently:

I've just been taking this all in as best I can.

Us right before he left.
Come the end of spring break, Derek went back to Colorado to finish up his last month of his job and he got an approved transfer from Maverick to come work here. I called the relation official on the 12th of this month. He told me he had been asked out while at work and he said he already had a girlfriend. So boom. Good enough for me. I was really close to changing my status on Facebook anyway.

So far so good. I've been hanging out with him basically every night, even after I get off work around midnight. Unfortunately though, I've been living the consequences of not having enough sleep every night. Today (saturday morning) I slept til about now, being 12pm. I go home around 2 am and honestly I just like being with him. He's moved into his own place as of last night and is also in the ward boundaries. So he'll be coming to church with us. I'm really excited to see how this will all turn out.

And in case you're wondering, I'm still V.L. :p

Then and Now.

Hey guys. It's April. :) I was looking at my calendar in my kitchen not that long ago and noticed that we have like three weeks of classes then finals. At first I was like awwwwwwww yeeeeah! Then I remembered finals week. That week is hell. But after you're done, it's really the best feeling ever.

I want to say that this has seriously been one of the best years I have ever had. In all aspects. I probably owe like 98.7% of that to my girls. This year I have bought my dslr d90 camera, learned to curl my hair, grown my hair at least six inches, have spent wayyy to much time with my girls, gone on multiple dates, enjoyed my job about 86% of the time, been introduced to lots of movies and music, and I honestly haven't been this happy in a long time.

So another thing that's been on my mind...the mission. Me going, my friends, the whole experience. This last saturday my buddy Chumpa got her call to the Philippines. I am so incredibly happy for her. Another friend of mine is currently serving in Copenhagen, Denmark. My girls are going to South America to teach. :') I really am happy for each of them. I realize that as everyone leaves, I will be physically alone. I say physically for a reason because I know that my Father in Heaven will be there with me.
Thank you, Erik Gray for posting this.
I will confess and say that I think of the day everyday when it will be time for them to go. And it hurts. At times I think maybe I care way too much. I probably do. I know I'll have to get used to seeing them everyday and spending time together. A year and a half seems like a long time. I just need to remind myself that at least it happened at all.

I have really been enjoying the nice weather Cedar's been having lately. Not quite like St. G but hey at least we're in the high 60's! I can finally wear my summer clothes again... :D Speaking of St. G, we had another spontaneous trip this last wednesday. :)

Stunna Shades!
Me and my buds. My girls. My best friends. We've been through quite a bit since last August. TJ Maxx has become one of my favorite stores. Everything in there is some sort of designer marked down to usually half the price it's worth. Me and Mel's glasses were ten bucks each. Harm got a super cute jacket worth $150...for $50. Seems like every time I go in there there's something new to admire.

Speaking of something new, there's this place called Orange Peel right over where TJ Maxx is. They sell smoothies of all kinds. We got to experience the bubble tea smoothies with tapioca pearls. Haha um won't be doing that again. I loved the smoothie, minus the pearls. They just got weird after awhile. I'd say we cashed out pretty good as far as shopping went. We also went to Target, Ulta, and Chick Fil A for dinner. A short trip, I think. But honestly had too much fun. We love Big Kickin' Country! 94.9 FM. :)
