It's Friday. Thank you. Scratch that. Reverse. I actually dread Fridays. Yup. It's 'cause I work Friday night. Oh the humanity.
This weekend I have leadership training. 11 am sharp and lasts for three hours. THREE. I just hope it will all be worth it. And then after that I work at five. So that means I'll probably be getting off at eleven since I don't have to close! :) Then church...should be interesting since it's the temple dedication. We have the option of 9, 12, and 3. I wonder what we will be attending to. And by we I mean me, Mike and whoever else he's going to party with.
(Read the next part in Jimmy Fallon's voice) K, so I've had like, an amazing week. I added like a ton of songs to mah music collection. (okay enough-back to normal)
I watched Jimmy Fallon on "Ew" with channing tatum. (I think?) Anyway could not stop laughing after he said diet Mountain Dew...Ew! xp Also saw "Who's Line is it Anyway" for the first time and needless to say what I thought of it. Easily entertained. The thank you notes by Fallon... :D
Thank you...best friends. First of all for being my best friends. Seriously. I have never had anyone so loyal, kind, inspiring and just amazing as you two. We don't even have to try very hard and we still have the funnest times. I love you! :) ...also for putting up with me and my complaints. It's a party in institute with you.
I love chemistry. Is that weird? I don't think it is. I mean, have you seen some of the demonstrations that professors do??? Dang. I'm basically majoring in it since I'm studying nutrition. I have to take all kinds of chemistry...including the dreaded organic chemistry. (Insert scary music here).
English class is really starting to grow on me. By grow I mean I'm beginning to like it more and more. I do enjoy writing...what I want to. The next topic is on student rights and freedoms in colleges. Ew! Since we've talking about it in our student groups, the essays are starting to become clearer. And the fact that Nick is in my group is a plus. :D I started talking to him about nutrition classes since it's something we both like. He's a freshman taking the 1020 class from Necia. We somehow related that to the essays we were analyzing and it began to make more sense. The people who write these essays are like Greek to me.
Well, hopefully everything will turn out. By everything I mean tonight at work. I really don't need another repeat of Tuesday. I don't know who actually reads my posts, but thanks to those of you that do!
Later!

It's a Date =]
Like the title suggests, I went on a date. Last night. Institute announced the annual date night again last Sunday in church and wouldn't ya know, I went again! :) It was about the same thing as last year; they had us drive to the bottom of the "C" trail and hike to an unknown location with yellow ribbon markers. This time around, the date was done correctly-because last year it was just us hiking down in the dark by ourselves. Yup, round two was with Mike :)
It was mostly us and Chris his brother and his date, Megan Taylor. Chris is in my institute class and serves as the president. I had not really talked to him that much before so while we hiked, I talked briefly and got to know him. The trail was kind of a killer with such a steep incline. I was able to keep up nonetheless. I'm going to say this now, and that's a shout out thank you to Scott who let us have his Gatorade when we didn't bring any water. That Gatorade saved our lives. In case you're curious, we did get lost. Again. But only for a second because this guy who was "following" us told us everyone had made a turn off around three hundred feet back. ...Why did he follow us and not tell us that??? Whatever. I got some cool pictures because of our little turn off.
By the time we got to the final destination we had met some new faces and nearly eaten the ground. There came a point where I thought for sure one of us was going to when we walked down the hill side. It was the kind where you had to bend forward and go slowly to keep from falling over. For dinner they served us deli sandwiches, water, chips, and otter pops. I have to say the view from where Mike and I sat was pretty. The sun was setting over the city of which you could see. It over looked the deep canyon below us.
Mostly we talked about things that had happened during the year. And by us I mean mostly me. I told him about Jess's BBQ and freaking Randall. To my surprise he knew about Jess and he was well familiar with Randall. There's just something Mike that allows me to be myself when I'm with him like I am with my best friends. That's something that I usually don't get from a lot of guys.
After the sun had gone down, we walked or rather ran down the rest of the trail back to the truck in the dark. On the way I got some people to take our pictures and I had the opportunity to do the same for them. Thankfully we didn't eat it on the way down. :) Walking aways farther down, we ended up at the end of the street that goes past the tower and walked almost all the way back when a guy named Chris (I think) gave us a ride in the bed of his truck.
The ride home was quiet. I somehow brought up the fact that I wouldn't be doing anything for the rest of the night. So we hung out some more at his house. There I met his mom (awkwardly) and talked with Chris some more. We had quite the time trying to figure out what was the matter with Chris's macbook air b/c the internet was all screwy. After the eventual figuring it all through, Mike and I watched Youtube videos upstairs in their theatre room. "Everything's Okay Now" was the best. He hadn't seen Julian Smith videos before. I watched "Practical Jokesters" which is a group of four guys that dare each other to do stuff. The one we watched was the one where they went to a buffet and took food off of peoples' plates. The most food taken won.
After that we watched "Matilda" and I really liked it! :) Thank goodness for Netflix. By the time I got home it was around 12:50 ish. That was one of the best nights I've had this year. :D

Another week down...
Everything's coming into play now.
Thursdays are going to be the death of me. (Maybe) I have chemistry from 2:30-5:30 that day.
Luckily I love it :)
My lab instructor has a pretty sweet accent. Mr. Samha.
There's a guy in my class that only speaks via sign language so that was interesting.
It seems like the chinese/asians are all not that they are made out to be.
Took my first chemistry exam.
I know I did very well. :)
Orientation was today.
National Society of Leadership and Success
I found a fork on the table by my seat and left it there.
Melvin came and met Blair (who's a guy)
He's in the ward.
Date night is tomorrow.
Pretty stoked. Went last year and basically got lost in the dark.
That won't happen again.
Spontaneous hanging in the hammock took place today.
Mel and Me and way too much fun-as usual.
Got a lovely sticker for the mac. Etsy.
I have some of the best friends anyone could ask for.
I'm forever in debt to whatever brought us together.

The First Few Days
Alright I just want to talk about the first few days of my sophomore year cause there's a lot that's happened.
First day of the singles ward...fall 2012. Since my friends have moved back here, we decided it would be fun if they tagged along with me to my college ward. They live where they did when it was my senior year and that's right across the street behind the post office. Their family owns the house that was once upon a time their gma's, but they now live there. Our first meeting was at ten am. At first I wasn't quite sure how they would take the singles ward, considering how different it is from family wards. Everyone there is your age or very close to and probably the most eerie part is how silent it is when sacrament is passed. I sat in the middle of us and looked around. To my surprise I knew quite a few people and had no idea they were in the ward. The meeting itself was good, as always with some lively speakers. I took them home after sacrament.
Sunday devotional: most awkward situation of my life. Sunday night was the first devotional of the school year. I however, had never attended one since beginning college. After my mom and I got home from shopping, I changed my black skirt for a pair of jeans, my heels for Sperry's and my shirt was kept the same. I show up at their house a half hour early, and I was surprised to see them dressed in sunday attire. We then had a debate about the dress code and decided it was probably sunday dress considering it was still sunday. I however didn't want to drive across town and come back just to change. So I went to the sunday devotional in jeans and tennis shoes. My heart sank when I saw that it was a combined stake devotional and not one person was dressed as I was. My own fault, though.
I woke up Monday morning at 2:30 thinking it was time to get up. I got up again at 7:00 so I had time to get myself ready and pick up my friends for our first day of... The Gospel and The Productive Life! 9 am sharp. There was a grand total of nine people including myself, but yesterday we had like twenty more people join. More men! Hooray! Just from the first two class periods, I already know that this class is what I needed to take. The book we have is one of those that you wouldn't throw away. Ever.
After our class, I stayed over at their place til it was time for my first day of 2010 English. And wouldn't ya know? Erik's in my class! :) The topic is 'Issues in Higher Education'. My first impression of our professor was correct. She's very nice and easy going, but she talks. A LOT. Jessica Tvordi is her name. I also like her teaching style, mostly because she uses a lot of things online and goes over everything clearly. And she doesn't have a weird accent, so that's also helpful. Aside from Erik, I don't really know many peers in our group. I did meet Garth, who sat behind me the first couple of days. Truth be told, I don't remember where's he from or what his last name is. I all know is that we share the common interest of owning Macbook Pros so we mostly talk about that and just the class in general.
I couldn't stop smiling while I sat in Chem. I owe it all to the professor. He's the kind of teacher that's very engaged in everything he does. "I'm not someone you can ignore...I'm going to be right in your face."-Dr. Eves. Those were his words the first day of class. He reminded me of Mr. Steffensen from Cedar High. Another word to describe him would be giddy. The girl that sits on the right side of me is from Norway and man does she have a cool accent! What I appreciate is that she understands my southern way of talking and I feel like I can talk to her easily. The girl that sits on my left side is someone I can relate with and she really liked my sunglasses... :D We're officially friends. :)
Extra Curricular! :D
Man, this is a lot to remember and write about in one day. Let's see, monday night was the institute dinner and in my opinion, wasn't really worth going to. A, it was really hot outside. We had to stand there in a mile long line for probably at least a half hour with the sun mercilessly beating on our heads. We were starving. As we got closer to the front of the line, my visiting teaching partner Heather walked over and talked to us. She landed a job teaching high school and I'm super excited for her. :) A little ways toward the front of the line was the creep that grinded on my friend and about every other girl at the red&white dance. When I first found out what happened, I was slightly upset. When I saw him, I was enraged. I guess I could say I felt protective of my friends like I am with my little brother. "Mess with them and you mess with me" kind of thing. B, the food was alright, but it wasn't that good. We had pull apart pork sandwiches, chips, some salad and brownies for dessert. I'm pretty picky about food though. C, the socializing wasn't great, either. When we sat with the ward, the girls in front of us got grass in me and Harm's salads. AND they made us do introductions. AGAIN. Seriously, I was so done with that.
Walmart Dance Dares: After institute dinner, us three stayed the night at my place since I didn't have class until 2:30 the next day. As the title suggests, we went to Walmart and danced behind unsuspecting bystanders. :) It was 12:30 or so on our first trip there. If you've ever watched Ellen, you know how these things work. I will say this now, it is much harder than it seems and you have to have guts to be able to do it well. What was really funny was seeing Taylor Rowley, my coworker. She was shopping in the shampoo aisle when I made ourselves known. I informed her that we were doing dance dares and got her to play with us. She didn't turn around once while me and Melvin let 'er loose behind her. Thanks for bein' a good sport, Tay. To summarize the experience, that's something I'm going to do whenever I go to walmart. I also do it at work too for shiz and giggles. We even made a video! :D Facebook page! Go check it out. Now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-IxUW061R4&feature=g-upl
Did you watch it?
Jess's Barbecue: We woke up the next morning, me being the first. I spent my night on our reclining seats in the basement while I let my friends have my bed. I made us pancakes for breakfast. Om nom nom. We took another trip to institute to pick up our manuals for class. We were heading out when brother Staples and Jess stopped and talked to us. At the time we didn't know who they were, but they were very friendly, so we stuck around. Jess's barbecue was the next night and we decided to go. Jess made us dinner which was barbecued chicken and this amazing rice with lots of herbs and things in it. He's a chef. For dessert was cinnamon streusel cake and ice cream. Of which, me, mel and Jess ran some over to brother Staples. Harmony at this time was hanging out with Ethan and wasn't with us. I will make a note about the book we found in the Staple's kitchen. The book is "Kiss My Math."
I stole this off Google images. Don't Hate. I really did take a pic with my phone, but if you know me, I'm still stuck with the AT&T blue samsung phone that started the revolution of throwing phones at the wall. (K not really). Anyway I started reading this and couldn't help but literally laugh out loud. It's very girly. I could read this just for fun. I really do think it would help me out with math. I'm not implying I'm terrible at it though.
Continuing with Jess's barbecue: Melvin and I hung out there with Jess, his roommate, Randall and this other guy we didn't get to know. I have Randall italicized for a reason. Long story short, I met Garth in English and he gave me his number but I didn't give him mine. So when I got a text from an unfamiliar number, I assumed it was him. Was I sorely disappointed. Turns out, I supposably gave this guy my number one night while I was with my co-workers at Denny's for a farewell party. My first impression of him was also right. He's a creep, also literally. Jess told me he's been in jail twice for stalking. Funny because I'd seen him around before at Walmart and at DQ when he and his brother came by. I know he means well, but he's got issues. I was on the couch playing Mario Kart when he came and sat by me. Mel and Jess were on their way out when Mel came and got me. I later found out that under any circumstances, DO NOT EVER be alone with Randall. I get shivers just thinking about it.
Last thing: The Hunger Games movie night. Movie night was Thursday at nine pm on the practice football field. I got out of dinner with the family for my brother at Chilli's. I take back what I said about the place because that trip was particularly yummy. I got chicken crispers with ranch. It came with nicely spiced corn on the cob and french fries. After dinner, I took a couple of our larger blankets and got my friends. My second time seeing the movie and it was just as good as the first time. I still freak out when the bees' nest falls and stings them to death. It was a night well spent. :)
Finally! I'm all done. Thanks for reading. :) I owe all the fun to my friends, Mel and Harm.
